"This expansive, contemporary kitchen forms the heart of a 4300 square-foot penthouse in Downtown Toronto. The penthouse space, initially a raw shell, presented an exceptional opportunity to create a kitchen environment tailored perfectly to the clients’ needs: a cooking/eating/gathering space for family get-togethers and catered meals with friends and guests.

The kitchen sits between the dining and family zones allowing the spaces to flow uninterrupted from one to the other. The back run was pulled away from the building’s core to rationalize the design while creating extra deep storage and hidden shelves behind the sink.

Predominantly white lacquer, the kitchen has framed elements in engineered walnut veneer and marble at the sink. These elements create depth and shadow within the white palette. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances were essential in creating the contemporary design aesthetic, including two 27”, integrated Sub-Zero 700TCI Refrigerator/Freezer behind walnut panels and two side-by-side 30” built-in Wolf E Series ovens.

The beverage station adjacent to the dining table has two side-by-side Sub-Zero 424 Wine Storage units, with walnut overlay. The custom, white lacquer and Corian island, with generous counter for buffet-style events, incorporates a flush-mounted 36” Wolf CT36IU Induction Cooktop as well as a 24” Wolf MWD24-2U/S Drawer Microwave Oven."
