Sub-Zero and Wolf Introduce New Outdoor Kitchen Concepts

New Wolf Grill, and High-Performance Refrigeration Equipment Help Create an Ideal Outdoor Environment

MADISON, Wis. (June 17, 2009) – Appliances by Sub-Zero and Wolf bring uncompromising performance and craftsmanship to the kitchen – indoors or out. Just in time for the summer and outdoor entertaining season, Sub-Zero and Wolf are introducing fresh new outdoor kitchen products, including an all-new Wolf grill, available with a grill cart or as a built-in unit.

“Masterfully planned outdoor kitchens are the latest trend in outdoor living and entertaining,” said Michele Bedard, vice president, marketing, for Sub-Zero and Wolf. “With Sub-Zero and Wolf’s wide range of outdoor-approved appliances, including our new Wolf grills, consumers can have everything they need outdoors in a beautiful kitchen, so they won’t have to – or want to – go back inside.”

Wolf
The new grill, scheduled to hit Sub-Zero and Wolf dealer showrooms this summer, will complement the current certified outdoor equipment from Wolf: warming drawers, side burner modules, sear modules, and stainless steel accessory doors and drawers.

Like its indoor counterparts – Wolf ranges, ovens and cooktops – the Wolf outdoor gas grill marries performance with exceptional simplicity of use.

The new grills are completely new units and are available in three sizes: 30-inch, 36-inch and 42-inch models, designed to enhance any size outdoor living space. The heavy-gauge dual-wall hood opens with a light touch thanks to the spring hood assist. Wolf gas burners combine finesse with sheer power – 90,000 Btu on the 36-inch and 42-inch grills. Also, a powerful 25,000 Btu sear station on the 36-inch and 42-inch models provides exceptionally high heat to sear meats faster and deeper, sealing in flavorful juices.

Sculpted in double-wall stainless steel and specially welded for seamless strength and beauty, Wolf outdoor gas grills use two types of heat, direct and radiant, to achieve the perfect temperature range and uniform heat distribution that are the keys to flawless grilling. Direct heat delivers high, searing temperatures and rapid preheating, while radiant sources distribute temperatures evenly. Models are available with natural gas or LP (propane) options.

Warming drawers, now available for outdoor applications, allow dishes finished at different times to stay warm; burner modules make it possible to prepare side dishes or warm barbecue sauce without having to run inside; the sear module, an ideal accessory for the 30-inch Wolf built-in grill, provides an additional workstation in an outdoor kitchen and produces the perfect sear that locks in meat’s juices and flavor; and stainless steel accessory doors and drawers, available in multiple sizes, provide the storage every outdoor kitchen needs and won’t corrode in the elements.

Sub-Zero
To complete the outdoor kitchen of their dreams, consumers can add the standard-setting design and worry-free performance of appliances by Sub-Zero. The Sub-Zero certified outdoor equipment includes a refrigerator in classic stainless – with a fully insulated cabinet to preserve food and minimize energy use – that has been tested to withstand outdoor temperatures of up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. And the outdoor ice maker supplies any cookout or pool party with 50 pounds of clear ice per day for chilled drinks, even in extreme heat.

The high-performance grills and other accessories by Sub-Zero and Wolf are designed to withstand the elements and are versatile enough to create a customizable outdoor entertaining area that reflects consumers’ lifestyles.
