Depending on the temperature desired the grill with generally preheat in about 10 minutes.
Before grilling for the first time, turn the grill on high for 10 minutes with the hood closed. This will heat the internal components. During this process smoking from the grill is normal as protective oils on metal components from the manufacturing process are burned off.
Open the grill hood completely. Do not attempt to light the grill with the hood closed. Open the gas supply shut-off valve. Push in the burner control knob and verify that the hot surface igniter glows. The hot surface igniters are located below the hexagonal grates inside the flash tubes. The rotisserie igniter is located on the rear panel next to the rotisserie burner. Refer to the illustrations below. If the igniter does not glow, verify that the grill is plugged into a 120 V AC outlet. Once the glow is verified, simultaneously push in and turn the knob counterclockwise to the HI position. Hold the knob pushed in for five seconds, a flame will be visible under the briquettes. Once you see the flame, release the knob.
If there is no electrical power supply available or if the hot surface igniter will not light the grill burners, the burners can be lit manually using a long lit match or BBQ lighter. Open the grill hood completely. Do not attempt to light the grill with the hood closed. Open the gas supply shut-off valve. Push in and turn the knob counterclockwise to the HI position. Hold the knob pushed in for five seconds. Insert a lit match held by the lanyard (located in the drip tray) or BBQ lighter through the hexagonal grates and near the top of the flash tube. A flame will be visible under the briquettes. Once you see the flame, release the knob.
The serial number tag is located above the drip tray, behind the logo. The drip tray must be removed to view the rating plate. There is a designated area inside the back cover of your use and care manual where you can write your model and serial number for future reference. Searing steaks and other meats with the infrared sear burner at the beginning of the grilling cycle helps lock in juices and flavor. Sear meats quickly, followed by regular grilling over the grill burners.
Yes, the Wolf outdoor gas grill features a three position warming rack. It may be used to warm food in the high or low position, or stowed away when not in use. The high position is further away from the heat source while the low position is closer to the heat source. When the warming rack is not in use, it conveniently stows away by moving up to the top support hooks. Important note: From the high position, the warming rack must be removed and rotated 180° for the low position and storage position.
The most important step in maintaining your oven is to wipe out the interior whenever you are finished cooking and the grill is cool. Use a spray degreaser and a soft sponge to clean away any residue on the stainless steel interior.
Stainless steel can be cleaned using a soft, non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner like Signature Polish. Apply with a soft 100% lint free cloth. To bring out the natural luster of the stainless steel finish, lightly wipe the surface with a water dampened microfiber cloth, followed by a dry polishing chamois. Remove the grill grates and carefully turn the briquette trays upside down. Replace the grill grates and turn the burners to high and close the hood. Allow the grill to burn off any food particles stuck to the grates. After ten minutes open the hood reverse the process to put the briquette trays back to their original position. Any crumbs will fall onto the drip pan which can be easily removed and cleaned.

After ten minutes open the hood and brush the grates with a grill brush. Finish by wiping the grates clean with a moist towel.
