Turn Two Sub-Zero Refrigerators Into One!
Do you have a client in need of a large amount of refrigeration space? Our new dual installation options for new built-in refrigeration models allow you to design two units side-by-side to look like one, large unit. And you still have all the design flexibility you need to create the desired look for your client. The following are important points to consider with this installation:
- What is a dual install? This is an installation where two 30” or two 36” built-in models are placed side-by-side without a custom filler strip in between. The units must have opposite hinges, and only all refrigerator, all freezer and over-and-under models can be used in this application.
- Dual installation kits. A dual installation kit is required for this installation. They are available with and without a dual wide grille, discussed further below. Along with the option of a dual wide grille, each kit contains a filler strip and heater to place in between the units. This creates a ¼” reveal and prevents any condensation build-up between the units.
- Dual wide grilles. Use one grille across two units with a dual wide grille. Available in 60” and 72” widths and can be used in stainless, framed, overlay and flush inset applications. These grilles must be ordered as part of a dual installation kit, which also comes with a dual wide toe kick.
