Note: In the spring of 2023, an update was made to the Sub-Zero Group Connected Appliance Alexa Skill, which requires all users to relink their Sub-Zero Group Owner’s account in the Alexa App.

  • Users previously enrolled in the Alexa skill need to disable the skill and then re-enable.
  • After enabling the Alexa skill, all previous appliance skills will automatically be replaced with a single skill for each appliance.

To Get Started:

1. Use the Sub-Zero Group Owner's mobile application to make sure that appliances are connected and functioning. To connect appliances, see Sub-Zero Group Owner's App Overview for instructions.
2. Verify the Amazon Alexa app is installed on the same device and using the same email address as the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App.
3. Open the Amazon Alexa app.
4. Tap the Devices icon in the bottom-right corner and verify that all Amazon devices are connected and visible in the app.
5. Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner to open the menu and search for new skills.
6. Search for the Sub-Zero Group Connected Appliances skill and select it.
7. Enable the skill.
8. Within the skill, sign in using your username and password for the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App.
9. Once login is complete, close the window by clicking the "X" in the top-right corner of the screen.
10. In the Alexa app, select "Discover Devices." This process discovers and loads all Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove connected appliances into the Alexa app.
  • Discovery may take up to 30 seconds. If no Sub-Zero, Wolf, or Cove devices appear after the discovery process, try selecting "Discover Devices" again.

Tips for Use:

  • To use the Alexa skill with Sub-Zero, Wolf, or Cove appliances, you must have an appliance connected in the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App.
  • The email used to connect the appliances must match the email used for the Amazon Alexa account.
  • If Alexa commands are not working, contact Customer Care at 800-222-7820. A Customer Care Representative can make sure the connected module is updated to at least version 4.9.
  • For information on Alexa commands for use with Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances, see:
  • Note: Amazon Alexa does not provide appliance notifications.
