Clean Refrigerator Drain Pan

Topics:

  • How do I clean the drain pan?
  • How do I remove the drain pan?
  • How to empty the drain pan if it is overflowing
  • Odor from drain pan

Troubleshooting:

Drain pans accumulate condensate liquid as part of the normal refrigeration process.

  • A drain pan may be more than half full of water at any given time depending on several factors.
  • Drain pan condensation evaporates as the unit runs, so it is not necessary to empty it regularly.

To clean a Sub-Zero drain pan:

  1. Remove the drain pan.
  2. Empty the drain pan.
  3. Use a mild detergent, baking soda paste, and water to clean and wipe with a soft cloth.
  4. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  5. Replace the drain pan.

Note: Drain pans in most Undercounter and 700 Series units are not removable by the consumer. If needed, they can be emptied by using a large syringe (turkey baster) to suck up any water and residue.

If there is water under the crisper drawers, the drain tube may be clogged.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
