Answer:

Use the provided Convection Steam Oven Water Test Strips to determine water hardness.

  • The oven defaults to hard water.
  • Refer to the Use and Care Guide for instructions on setting water hardness level.
  • To make sure that all residual oil from the manufacturing process has been removed:
  1. Clean oven thoroughly with hot water and a mild detergent.
  2. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
  3. Turn on kitchen ventilation, such as ventilation hood, if installed. Some smoke and odor is normal.
  4. Fill and install the water tank.
  5. Select Convection Steam at 410°F (210°C).
  6. Heat oven (empty) for 30 minutes.
  7. There will be little to no residual water after the 30 minutes. Steam is not produced at temperatures over 210°F.

It is not necessary to remove oven racks or guides for the first time use process. Refer to the product Use and Care Guide for further information.
