Answer:

Sabbath Mode Information

In Sabbath Mode, all M Series Ovens are Star-K compliant.

  • Audible notifications are disabled.
  • Roast, Bake, Proof, and Warm Modes are the only modes that can be used in Sabbath Mode. All other modes are disabled.
  • Timed cooking modes can be used.
    • Timed cooking modes must be turned on before entering Sabbath Mode.
    • Self-Clean mode cannot be used. Setting self-clean engages the motorized door latch, and is not Sabbath-compliant.
  • Temperature probes are not functional.
  • The 12-hour maximum oven on time is disabled. The unit will stay on indefinitely until manually turned off.
  • The oven light remains either on or off according to chosen setting.
    • If the oven light does not turn on, but the oven is not in Sabbath Mode, refer to Wolf Oven Light Bulbs.

Opening door and changing temperature

  • The press-to-open mechanism on Contemporary oven handles is 100% mechanical and does not cause initiation of electrical components.
    • The 20-second open door timer used to shut off the elements during normal modes has a random timer value between 16 and 32 seconds each time the door is opened.
  • On holidays when the user can change the temperature, the new set temperature changes after a random delay of between 16 and 32 seconds after the temperature is changed.
    • There is no tone or visible change to confirm the temperature has been changed on any model while in Sabbath Mode.

Exiting Sabbath Mode

  • When all of the active cooking modes are canceled with the oven off key or knob, the unit exits to the idle state.
  • In the event of a power interruption, Sabbath Mode and any active cooking modes, set temperatures, and oven lights are restored when power returns.
