Mold Inside a Sub-Zero

Cause:

  • Excessive moisture inside a unit

Troubleshooting:

How to Clean Mold:

  1. Wipe out the interior with a solution of one quart warm water, 2 caps full of bleach, and a few drops of dish detergent.

    • Leave the unit off and prop the doors open if possible to dry out the unit before turning it back on.

Tips to Prevent Mold:

  1. Make sure the Condenser Is Clean.
  2. Listen for the condenser fan motor to run when the unit is cooling.
    • Mold is not caused by the ice maker or condenser.
  3. Check to verify temperatures are properly set, 38 in the refrigerator and 00 in the freezer (dial set between 4-6) or at the desired temperature for Wine Storage.
  4. Make sure door and/or drawer gaskets are not ripped or torn.
  5. Make sure that no food spoilage or spillage has occurred.
