Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Connected Appliance Does Not Show PIN

Topics:

  • Trying to set up a connected appliance and cannot see the PIN code
  • Passcode or PIN not available to pair the appliance with the app
  • How to find the PIN code for an appliance to connect

Cause:

  • Software not up to date
  • Door not open

Troubleshooting:

  1. After the app says to open the door, wait 10 seconds before opening it.
  2. Wait 30 seconds for the PIN to appear.
  3. For Designer (formerly Integrated) and Designer Wine Storage products:
    1. Open the door of the Designer or Designer Wine Storage unit before tapping "Add an Appliance" on the app.
    2. Refer to Pair a Connected Appliance for normal pairing instructions.
    3. If the PIN still does not appear, reset power to the unit and pair the unit again.
    4. If the PIN still does not appear, uninstall the app, reinstall, and pair the unit again.
    5. If the PIN does not appear on the appliance display after following the steps above, the appliance software may need an update.
    6. If the PIN still does not appear after the steps above are complete, no further customer troubleshooting advice is available. Service is needed to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
  4. For Cove Dishwashers, if the pin does not appear:
    1. The app shows the appliance even if Connect is not turned on, so verify it is on. Verify the connected feature is turned on for the appliance to pair with a PIN using Cove Connected Appliance Use for instructions.
    2. If a Cove unit is in a pending state (open door when drying, did not cancel cycle, etc.), cancel the cycle before trying to pair the appliance. The PIN will not appear if the unit is in a pending state (open door when drying, did not cancel cycle, etc.).
    3. If cycle is canceled and the PIN still does not appear, start a mode and cancel it. Try to pair the unit.
    4. If the PIN still does not appear, reset power to the unit and pair the unit again.
    5. If the PIN still does not appear, uninstall the app, reinstall, and pair the unit again.
    6. If the PIN does not appear on the appliance display after following the steps above, the appliance software may need an update.
    7. If the PIN still does not appear after the steps above are complete, no further customer troubleshooting advice is available. Service is needed to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
  5. For Classic (BI) products, if only four or two digits appear:
    1. Classic products show the PIN split across two screens. Enter the first half (four digits), then the rest of the PIN (two digits) when the second display appears. For images, refer to Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Connected Appliance PIN Location.
  6. For all products:
    1. If the PIN still does not appear, reset power to the unit and pair the unit again.
    2. If the PIN still does not appear, uninstall the app, reinstall, and pair the unit again.
    3. Removing the appliance from the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
      • This allows the phone to pair to the appliance again, which can fix some Bluetooth connection issues.
      • Note: The Android app currently has a bug where the Bluetooth connection between the app and the appliance can become disconnected before or during the PIN pairing process. A WLAN2 error code appears. This error is related to the Bluetooth connection. We are currently investigating and developing a fix for this.
    4. If the PIN does not appear on the appliance display after following the steps above, the appliance software may need an update.
      1. Verify proper connection and pairing steps were used. See Pair a Connected Appliance if needed.
      2. Open the door all the way to show the PIN.
      3. If the PIN still does not appear after the steps above are complete, no further customer troubleshooting advice is available. Service is needed to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
