Sub-Zero Drain Pan Removal

Answer:

Designer (Formerly Integrated) Series
The drain pan on a 700 Series and Designer Series product is not accessible. It is in the rear right corner of the unit so it may be visible if the kickplate is removed but cannot be removed for cleaning or care. Contact Factory Certified Service for drain pan removal if needed.

Built-In Series and PRO Series
The drain pan slides in from the front of unit on two side brackets. The drain pan has detents at the bottom front that drop into notches at the front of the side brackets. To remove the drain pan:

  1. Remove the kickplate by removing two screws at the bottom left and right corners and pulling forward.
  2. Push front of drain pan up slightly, then pull forward.
  3. To install, slide drain pan in from front of the unit on the two side brackets. Push drain pan in and up slightly until it stops.

600 Series Side by Side and Over/Under Models Starting with Serial # 1810000

  1. Remove the kickplate by removing two screws at the bottom left and right corners and pulling forward.
  2. Push in on the front of drain pan and up slightly, then pull forward to remove. The drain pan is near the center of the unit.
  3. To install, slide the rear of the pan back into place then push up on the front tab until it engages in the kickplate support.

500 Series and 600 Series Side by Side and Over/Under Models prior to Serial # 1810000

  1. Remove the kickplate by removing two screws at the bottom left and right corners and pulling forward.
  2. Push the front of the drain pan back and down.
  3. Pull the drain pan forward.
  4. To install, the tapered end of the drain pan must be inserted on top of the drain pan holder at rear.
    • Tapered ends with cut corners are placed toward the rear of the unit on the wire support bracket. The square end of the drain pan is the front.
  5. Push the front of the drain pan up until the top front flange engages the tab in the kickplate support.

601, 501, 201 Models
For all refrigerator and all freezer models, to remove a drain pan:

  1. Remove lower grille section.
  2. Remove the kickplate by removing two screws at the bottom left and right corners and pulling forward.
  3. Push the drain pan up and out from underneath.
  4. To install, tilt the pan to set it back down into place.

Drain pan may be difficult to remove due to tubing that is in front of the drain pan. Clean the drain pan out with a turkey baster if the pan is too difficult to remove.

Undercounter (UC) Models
The drain pan is not accessible for cleaning and care.

Wine Storage Models
The drain pan is not accessible for cleaning and care.
