Sub-Zero Legacy Classic Series (BI) Relay Faults | Refrigerator | Closed | Error 15 1 01

Cause:

  • Refrigerator compressor relay is stuck closed
  • Power to compressor at all times
  • Electrical interference

Internal Considerations/Guidelines:

To fix this error code, the unit software must be updated using CDP.  

  • CDP software version 2.0.51 silenced and removed visual display for error codes 15 1 01 and 15 2 01. However, they are still accessible in service mode and CDP.
    • If error codes are present in service mode or CDP, troubleshoot any symptoms accordingly.
  • Previous fixes, including electrical noise filters, are no longer recommended. 
    • Remove any previously installed electrical noise filters from the unit power supply, such as Greenwave filters.

In cases where CDP is not available to complete a software update, the control board should be replaced. 

  • Control boards 7043869 and 7041549 packed after 7/25/23 have updated software that silenced and removed visual display for error codes 15 1 01 and 15 2 01.
    • 7043869 has software version 3.12 installed. 
    • 7041549 has software version 1.42.00 installed.

Technical Assistance:

Address any separate error codes or temperature-related issues first.

  • A valid 15 1 01 error code would cause significant temperature and performance issues.

If there are no separate error codes or temperature-related issues:

  1. Update unit software with CDP.
    • NOTE: CDP software version MUST be at least version 2.0.51. 
  2. If the alarm is silenced after the software update and the unit is functioning normally, no further action is required. Note that the error will still be visible in CDP.
