French Top Bracket

Topics:

  • Bracket that holds the French top burner down
  • Should the bracket that holds the French top burner be removed?
  • What is the purpose of the metal bracket over the burner of a French top?
  • When was the bracket added to the French top on Dual Fuel Range and Sealed Burner Rangetop models?
  • Part number 808879

Answer:

Dual Fuel Ranges (DF), Sealed Burner Rangetops (SRT) and GR Series Gas Ranges have a metal bracket (shown below) underneath the French Top that holds the burner cap down; the bracket should not be removed.

If the bracket is removed or breaks off, unit performance will not be affected unless the burner cap or assembly is not positioned correctly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
