The porcelain tops on a R Series Gas Range and RT Gas Rangetop can be removed to locate the serial number, for cleaning and for replacement.
To remove the top pieces:
  1. Remove the burner grates
  2. Place the S Hook, part 816329, in the burner pan holes to lift the porcelain burner pans.
