The cooking chart is a guide.

  • The cooking guide lists two temperatures for recipes that often call for high heat at first, followed by heat reduction later in the baking process.
  • Recipe or package directions take precedence over the cooking chart.
  • When following the rack position recommendations, keep in mind that rack position one is the lowest rack position.

Tips for Success

Preheat
  • Make sure the oven is fully preheated.
  • During preheat, the oven is heated in a manner unsuitable for cooking.
  • Use preheat for all cooking modes except broil and convection broil.
Convection
Bakeware
  • Stainless steel is not a good conductor of heat.
  • More browning is possible when using aluminum baking sheets or dark nonstick baking sheets.
  • Both will make the bottoms of cookies, for example, more brown.
