Wolf Outdoor Gas Grill Not Lighting After Replacing Propane Tank

Topics:

  • OG grill will not light
  • Full bottle of gas
  • Lighting an Outdoor Grill after replacing gas tank

Troubleshooting:

If the ignitors are working, but the grill will not light after the tank was replaced or filled:

  1. Open the hood completely. Do not attempt to light the grill with hood closed. For a module, remove the cover.
  2. Open the gas supply shut-off valve.
  3. Turn the control knob counterclockwise to Hi on at least one burner.
  4. Push the burner control knob in and verify the igniter glows. The igniter is located below the burner grates inside the flash tubes.
  5. Allow the gas to flow for up to 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the valves off and allow the gas to dissipate.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 several times. Then, try to light the grill.
    • When lighting, always keep face and body as far away as possible.
  8. If an OG or BBQ gas grill does not light after the tank was filled, it is possible the tank is too full.
    • Propane gas is sold as a liquid, and the gas boils into a vapor inside the tank.
    • If there is not enough space in the tank for the gas to build pressure, it will not light.
  9. If these steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
