Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Extend Kitchen Design Contest Deadline to January 31, 2022

Biennial Contest Announces New Deadline to Accommodate Unprecedented, Industry-Wide Disruptions Tied to COVID-19

Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove, the industry leader in premium refrigeration, cooking, and dishwashing, has extended the submission deadline for its 14th iteration of the Kitchen Design Contest. The official deadline for entries is now Jan. 31, 2022.

"As the design industry continues to adapt together in the face of unprecedented challenges prompted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we are officially extending the current contest period," said Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero Group, Inc. "It's our hope the extension will allow those who have experienced construction delays and deferred starts on design projects this year the opportunity to participate. We look forward to coming together again soon to applaud the amazing creators advancing kitchen design, as well as what has been overcome."

Since its inception in 1993, the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove contest has become a coveted win in the residential home design industry, celebrating over 14,000 designs and promoting nearly 800 design professionals. It recognizes kitchen designers, architects, residential designers, interior designers, builders, remodelers, landscape designers, landscape architects and students across the globe for their stunning, innovative kitchen designs.

The Kitchen Design Contest spans eight design categories for entry: Traditional; Contemporary; Transitional; First-Time Entrant; Small Space Kitchen; Student; and the newly introduced Best Use Outside of Kitchen and Emerging Professional. A panel of esteemed design judges will evaluate all qualifying entries and hand-select top designs from around the world.

Free and simple to enter, the contest will now accept entries online until 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Jan. 31, 2022. Eligibility for the contest now requires that all design and construction be fully completed within the contest period of Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2021. Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove will award 29 finalists and one student winner with more than $275,000 in cash prizes and a trip for two to the Winners’ Summit & Gala in fall 2022 where the global winners will be announced.
