2019-2021 KDC Finalist

With a wealth of experience behind her, designer Meryl Hare had one goal in mind, and that was to satisfy her client’s desire for a simply beautiful and elegant kitchen. Positioned immediately in line with the entrance to the home, the kitchen was in plain view and could be seen from all angles. It was integral to the overall design language of the home.

Glass walls and doors on all sides of the living, dining, and kitchen areas provided a challenge. One of Meryl’s goals was to diminish some of the light with darker, light-absorbing surfaces. Cabinetry was enhanced with stone and fine detailing, including aged brass strips to accent marble joints. Sub-Zero refrigeration formed the basis of the design for the wall joinery that connects the front and back kitchens. The black glass on the Wolf ovens and cooktops worked with the deep shades of the marble.
