Renovated as part of a mid-century modern bungalow with Japanese influences, this kitchen was designed as a place of serenity, balance, and everyday ritual. Because the kitchen sits directly along the circulation path between the living and dining rooms, its presence needed to feel harmonious from every angle. Natural materials, soft curves, and a highly functional layout support both the homeowners’ love of cooking and their desire for a home that encourages peace and relaxation.

Mid-Century Modern with Japanese Influence
The kitchen reflects the home’s design language through the use of wood, natural stone, rounded forms, and a carefully balanced palette that feels both warm and restrained.
A Centered Cooking Experience
The cooking zone and round window are placed precisely at the center of the kitchen and aligned with the swimming pool, creating a strong visual axis and a sense of symmetry.
Indoor–Outdoor Connection
Curved glass replaces the rear facade, opening the kitchen to the outdoors and reinforcing the home’s relationship to light, landscape, and wellness spaces.
Symmetry Through Integrated Appliances
Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances are grouped into a cohesive composition with custom stainless-steel panels and shared hardware, reinforcing order and visual calm.
A Sculptural Island with Cultural Reference
The kitchen island is shaped like a Japanese torii gate, with its marble form quietly referencing tradition while anchoring the space.
