In this project, the kitchen was designed to recede visually, allowing expansive river views and the surrounding landscape to take center stage. A restrained palette and deeper, more refined tones replaced the home’s original finishes, creating a calm, cohesive interior that minimizes distraction and strengthens the connection to the outdoors. Carefully positioned within the home’s circulation, the kitchen supports daily routines and entertaining while preserving uninterrupted sightlines to the pond, forest, and river beyond.

Working within existing walls and structural supports required precise planning to ensure the kitchen felt intentional, balanced, and highly functional.
An L-Shaped Kitchen Reimagined
A slimmer-than-typical prep island and reconfigured working zones maximize efficiency and flow within the kitchen’s limited width.
Appliances Planned Around Daily Use
Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances were selected and positioned based on the homeowners’ routines, supporting both everyday meals and frequent entertaining without clutter.
