Hanby Residence

text-h1

The Hanby Residence kitchen is a study in restrained contemporary design—where sculptural clarity, natural materials, and abundant light come together in a space that is both serene and highly functional. Anchored by a monolithic quartzite island and unified by a long, continuous skylight, the kitchen balances architectural precision with warmth, supporting serious cooking and effortless entertaining while maintaining a visually calm, uncluttered presence.

Sculptural quartzite island
Envisioned as both a functional workspace and a visual centrepiece, the quartzite island anchors the kitchen with its weight, natural veining, and generous proportions—creating an inviting gathering point for family and friends.
Continuous skylight
An 11‑metre skylight washes the kitchen and butler’s pantry in soft, diffused daylight, establishing a strong connection to the garden while reinforcing the kitchen’s sense of calm and architectural clarity.
Layered natural materials
Polished plaster, scratched render, and oak introduce subtle texture and warmth, softening the kitchen’s strong geometries while grounding the space in a refined, natural palette.
Integrated performance appliances
Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances are seamlessly integrated into the joinery, delivering high-performance cooking and refrigeration while preserving the kitchen’s minimal, handleless aesthetic.
Discreet butler’s pantry
A concealed butler’s pantry supports intensive preparation and storage, allowing the main kitchen to remain visually serene while maintaining full functional connection through shared light and continuous surfaces.
