2019-2021 KDC Finalist

The overall inspiration for this home was an old-world, Tulum, Mexico aesthetic using a minimalist approach. By designing a large entertaining kitchen with a pocket door system surrounding much of the main living space, a true indoor/outdoor resort living experience was created. The kitchen was constructed mainly of steel and glass, and designer Brendan Bader used natural woods and stones to balance the clean modern lines and high-end features.

Those natural elements were featured in the kitchen along with clean and modern cabinetry and high-performance appliances. The 60” Wolf Gas Range offered optimal cooking features while feeling substantial in the space. The feel of Tulum, Mexico was apparent and created a wow-factor, but also allowed for private, intimate spaces to get that comfortable lived-in feeling.
