Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Announce 2022-2023 Kitchen Design Contest Finalists

44 Design Professionals from Around the World Advance to the Winners’ Summit and Gala

MADISON, Wis. (May 2, 2024)Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove – the industry leaders in premium refrigeration, cooking and dishwashing – proudly announced the forty-four Finalists and one Student Winner of the 2022-2023 Kitchen Design Contest via videocast..

As part of the 2022-2023 Kitchen Design Contest, more than 1,600 completed entries were submitted from 11 countries and 44 states, with an impressive 57% submitted by first-time entrants. A mix of traditional, contemporary, and transitional design styles were represented across the submissions, with transitional emerging as the most popular design category, accounting for over 40% of submissions.

The Finalists were selected by a panel of seven esteemed architects, kitchen designers, and interior designers – each a previous Kitchen Design Contest winner – through extensive review and deliberation at the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove headquarters in Madison. The 2022-2023 judges panel includes Davy Swanenberg of Culimaat High-End Kitchens (Netherlands), Mark Stumer of Mojo Stumer Associates (Greenvale, NY), Martin de Sousa of Designström (Toronto, ON), Martin Holliday of Chiselwood (United Kingdom), Mick De Giulio of de Giulio design (Chicago, IL), Sandra Agurto of Cabinetry Creations, Inc. (Orlando, FL), and Stacy Eisenmann of Eisenmann Architecture (Albany, CA).

"The Kitchen Design Contest holds an incredible importance in the design world and continues to set the standard of excellence for recognizing innovation and talent in kitchen design,” remarked judge Mark Stumer. “With thousands of submissions and a rigorous judging process, each entry is meticulously evaluated to ensure that only the best designs rise to the top and their creativity is celebrated.”

All Finalists and the Student Winner will receive a trip for two to attend the Winners’ Summit and Gala, held from October 13-16, 2024, at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The Summit offers the design professionals an opportunity to come together and celebrate their achievements. The 13 Global Winners will be announced at the Gala honoring their accomplishments in design across the following categories: first-, second- and third-place in each of the Contemporary, Transitional and Traditional design categories, First-Time Entrant, Small Space Kitchen, and Best Use Outside of Kitchen. The previously announced Student Winner will also be recognized.

Eligibility for the contest required that all design and construction be fully completed within the contest period of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2023. Both indoor and outdoor kitchen design submissions required specific criteria to ensure a diverse range of entries.
