Sub-Zero Freezer Company/Wolf Appliance Company and IESA Announce Presence In Brazil
Monterrey, Mexico (October 2, 2002) – Sub-Zero Freezer Company, the premier manufacturer of residential refrigeration, and Wolf Appliance Company, a leading manufacturer of luxury cooking instruments, together with IESA (Importaciones Electrodomésticas SA de CV), the primary distributor of high-end appliances in Mexico, announce that IESA is now the exclusive distributor of Sub-Zero and Wolf products in Brazil.
In conjunction with the company’s expansion, IESA will open a showroom in November where architects, designers, dealers and the general public can preview the home appliances. Located in the prestigious interior design area of São Paulo, Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, the showroom will include a culinary institute similar to IESA’s Mexico City showroom. The culinary institute will be used for sales and service schools; cooking demonstrations and cooking classes; and consumer product testing. IESA will follow its standard two-step distribution system in Brazil, where all sales are channeled through authorized Sub-Zero and Wolf dealers.
“Brazil is an untapped market for Sub-Zero and Wolf,” said Jim Bakke, president and chief executive officer for Sub-Zero and Wolf. “This partnership enables us to gain a stronger international brand awareness.”
“We are thrilled to open a distribution center for Sub-Zero and Wolf in Brazil,” said Alejandro Leal, managing director for IESA. “This is a great opportunity for IESA to expand its business and to establish a presence in South America.”
The Brazil location will carry stock for immediate product delivery and will utilize authorized service agents for post sales support. Actual product sales will be through registered IESA dealers.
