Wolf Upgrades Gas Cooktop Model

New features underscore company's commitment to creating the ultimate residential cooking appliances

Madison, Wisc. (April 2, 2004) - Wolf Appliance Company, a leading manufacturer of luxury cooking appliances, announced today upgrades to the company's gas cooktop models, continuing its commitment to industry innovation and leadership.

The new gas cooktops are available in two sizes: a 30-inch four burner model and a 36-inch five burner model. On these new models, one burner now delivers 15,000 BTUs of extra-high heat for searing, boiling and stir-frying. The other burners offer 12,000 or 9,200 BTUs.

The cooktop's dual stacked burners allow for ultimate cooking flexibility. The patented dual stacked burner design, unique to Wolf's gas cooktops, uses the upper-level burner for maximum heat transfer and the lower-level burner for simmering on all burners. A new grate design has enhanced the look of the burners, and the low-profile, continuous grates allow a cook to easily slide a pot from one burner to the next without lifting or bumping.

With the True Simmer feature, standard on all burners, sauces or stews can be cooked for hours at 200 degrees without boiling or scorching. True Melt is a feature that comes standard on one burner and allows the user to melt items such as butter or chocolate at a temperature of 165 degrees.

Another unique feature is the cooktop's backlit control knobs, which eliminates fumbling in a dimly lit setting. Additionally, all gas cooktops are equipped with an auto reignition system.

"Wolf's new gas cooktops combine the latest in appliance design, technology and beauty-something consumers have come to expect from Wolf-with the performance, control and power serious cooks require," said Jim Bakke, president and chief executive officer for Wolf Appliances and Sub-Zero Freezer Company. "Our new models are improvements on one of the most popular choices for chefs and homeowners alike-the classic gas cooktop."

Scheduled to hit retail showrooms beginning May 1, the new products will complement the current Wolf line featuring built-in wall ovens; electric, gas and integrated cooktops; convection microwave ovens; warming drawers; ventilation products; and integrated modular components such as a steamer, fryer, wok and grill.

Built by hand, every product is tested through the company's Quality Assurance Program to ensure ultimate quality control. With the industry's best warranty program, Wolf offers a two-year full warranty on parts and labor for the entire product and a five-year warranty on gas burners, electric heating elements, blower motors, electronic control boards and magnetron tube parts.
