Madison, Wis.
(May 10, 2005) – Consumers may be seeing a little less of Sub-Zero Freezer
Company this summer. The leading manufacturer of luxury residential
refrigeration and wine storage units is adding a new, smaller model to its wine
product line. Spanning 15 inches, the Model 315W will bring consumers wine
cooling capabilities with the ability to fit into more compact spaces.
“Our new 315W unit offers customers more
convenience and flexibility with entertaining,” said Jim Bakke, president and
CEO of Sub-Zero Freezer Company and Wolf Appliance Company. “We are committed
to giving our consumers what they want from kitchen appliances – including an
innovative unit that can store wine wherever they choose to enjoy it.”
The 315W holds both red and white wine in a single
compartment, with the capacity to hold up to 26 750-ml bottles. Inside, six
natural cherrywood-faced, roller glide, wire shelves pull out to a
three-quarter extension, allowing complete access to all bottles. Along with a
quiet, smooth compressor, the sturdy shelves eliminate heavy vibrations, preserving
wine’s delicate scent and flavor. A double-wall, tempered glass door blocks
dangerous ultraviolet rays, protecting a wine’s color while showing off prized
bottles.
The new built-in unit complements Sub-Zero’s 200 Series of
undercounter refrigeration options. The compact size is ideal for apartments, a
bar area, recreational room or any other area that incorporates counter space.
Available in Classic Stainless Steel or with overlay design,
the 315W continues Sub-Zero’s commitment to versatile and personal design and
comes with a full two-year warranty and five- and 12-year limited warranties.
Sub-Zero and Wine Storage
Sub-Zero set the standard for wine storage with the
introduction of its newest refrigeration innovation in 1999. The company’s other
wine storage units are part of the 400 Series, which offers four beautifully
elegant and unique wine storage models designed to both keep wine in its
optimum condition and showcase wine collections. Unique to Sub-Zero, each 400
Series unit includes two separate refrigeration compartments with independent
temperature zones from 38 to 65 degrees and varying capacity from 46 to 147
bottles. In this way, the wine enthusiast can keep wines at their ideal
temperatures—whether preparing to serve or storing the wines. Sub-Zero’s 400
Series ensures that bottle contents remain at a constant set temperature,
protecting the taste and texture of the wine. Additional features ensuring the
highest standard in wine storage include: nearly ideal humid environment, ultraviolet-resistant
glass doors, smooth-running cooling systems and a service alert indicator.
These units can also tie in to a home’s security system.
