Winterizing Cove Dishwashers

Answer:

To properly store or move a Cove Dishwasher:

  1. Store in an area where the temperature will stay above freezing.
    • Do not store in an unheated home over the winter if the temperature gets below 32o Fahrenheit.
    • Mechanical and Electrical components are not rated to withstand cold temperatures even when the unit is not in use.
    • DO NOT add antifreeze to a Cove product. Antifreeze is poison, and unit would need to be replaced.
  2. Run a Heavy Wash with High Temp and Sani Wash options ON.
    • Dishwasher should be empty.  This will help clean food residue out of the unit.
  3. Turn unit off at the circuit breaker or unplug.
  4. Turn off water to the unit.
  5. Disconnect drain hose.
  6. Make sure all water is drained from the unit.
  7. Completely dry interior of the unit before leaving.
