Winterizing Cove Dishwashers
Topics:
- Can a Cove be stored in an unheated home for the winter?
- Can antifreeze be added to a dishwasher?
- How to prepare a Cove dishwasher for winter
Answer:
To properly store or move a Cove Dishwasher:
- Store in an area where the temperature will stay above freezing.
- Do not store in an unheated home over the winter if the temperature gets below 32o Fahrenheit.
- Mechanical and Electrical components are not rated to withstand cold temperatures even when the unit is not in use.
- DO NOT add antifreeze to a Cove product. Antifreeze is poison, and unit would need to be replaced.
- Run a Heavy Wash with High Temp and Sani Wash options ON.
- Dishwasher should be empty. This will help clean food residue out of the unit.
- Turn unit off at the circuit breaker or unplug.
- Turn off water to the unit.
- Disconnect drain hose.
- Make sure all water is drained from the unit.
- Completely dry interior of the unit before leaving.
