Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance
Topics:
- ADA-compliant Sub-Zero or Wolf products
- Are any Sub-Zero or Wolf products Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant?
- Can I remove the legs on a Wolf product to make them ADA compliant?
Answer:
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lists requirements that appliances must meet to be considered ADA-compliant. Not all types of appliances have requirements listed.
Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero products do not meet ADA requirements, so they are not ADA-compliant.
Wolf
ADA does not specify requirements for cooking products.
- Wolf Wall Ovens, Cooktops, Microwaves, and Rangetops can be mounted at any height. These products will work in ADA designed kitchens.
- Outdoor (OG) Grills without a cart can also mount at any height so they will work in ADA designed outdoor kitchens.
- Gas Ranges (R and GR Series), Duel Fuel (DF) Ranges, and Induction Ranges (IR), are not ADA-compatible.
- The legs cannot be removed to make them ADA-compatible.
- Legs are factory installed and not designed to be removed for ADA purposes, as the unit may not stay level in the installation, which is critical to proper operation.
- Pro Wall Hoods, Pro Liners, and Cooktop Wall Hoods are not ADA-compatible. The controls cannot be moved.
- Downdraft controls can be mounted at any height, therefore they will work in ADA-designed kitchens.
Cove
- Cove products do not meet ADA requirements, so they are not ADA-compliant.
Refer to the Wolf Design Guide or Sub-Zero Design Guide for design specifications.
