Designer Column (IC) Combination Ice or Frost Buildup on Freezer Drawer Front

Topics:

  • Frost on Designer Column Combination unit
  • Moisture or condensation on freezer drawer front

Cause:

  • Door left ajar
  • Torn gasket
  • Door not sealing
  • Dirty condenser
  • Blocked toe kick
  • High humidity

Troubleshooting:

For any frost or ice buildup in a Sub-Zero freezer:

  1. Verify the door was not left ajar for a period of time.
  2. Correct or remove anything blocking the door from closing.
  3. Some condensation inside a unit or on the shelving or drawers is normal if the door is opened or left open for a period of time.
    • Condensation around and on the freezer drawer fronts can also be normal on these units.
    • Humidity from the refrigerator or an open door will condense on the colder surface for the freezer drawers.
  4. See also, Excessive Moisture or Condensation.
  5. If these steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
