Classic (CL) Series Humidity Control

Topics:

  • How to adjust refrigerator drawer humidity control
  • Classic (CL) Series humidity adjustment

Answer:

The humidity control feature advertised for Classic (CL) units does not control the humidity in the drawers independently. There is no humidity sensor in the drawer.

  • The feature is either on or off and affects the entire refrigeration compartment.
  • The evap fan(s) continue to run after the compressor shuts down to push the moisture off of the coil and return the water vapor to the cabinet.
  • There is no test procedure to determine humidity level.
  • The settings for increase and decrease are based on Sub-Zero food preservation testing.

Customers who store a lot of vegetables in their unit may see some benifit from using the enhanced humidity setting, however it will cause condensation and moisture buildup in other areas of the cavity.

  • Due to this, the enhanced humidity feature is not something that is being actively promoted.

If condensation or moisture appears inside the refrigerator, verify the humidity control is set to Normal.

  • The Use and Care Guide will be updated accordingly.
