Gas, Dual Fuel, and Induction Range Anti-Tip Mechanism

Topics:

  • Where is the anti-tip bracket packaged in the box when shipped with a Dual Fuel (DF), Induction Range (IR), or Gas Range (GR)?
  • Where is the mounting hardware for a DF, IR, or GR anti-tip bracket?
  • How is the anti-tip bracket installed on a Legacy Dual Fuel or Gas Range?
  • Why are Dual Fuel Ranges and Gas Ranges now supplied with a new anti-tip mechanism?
  • Why did the anti-tip bracket change for ranges?
  • Anti-tip label visible with the door closed

Answer:

Regulating agency standards required the anti-tip mechanism for Gas and Dual Fuel Ranges to change. The current anti-tip bracket provided with Wolf ranges provides a safer way to prevent the unit from tipping forward.

  • The anti-tip bracket is shipped in the foam wedge that is part of the cavity kit box that ships in the oven.
  • The anti-tip bracket is zip-tied to the rear of the GR, Legacy Dual Fuel, and Legacy Induction Range.
  • Installation hardware is placed in the styrofoam containers that house the grates and burner caps.
  • The bolt in the left rear corner underneath the range is installed when the unit is shipped.
  • The bolt engages with the mechanism that is attached to the floor and/or back wall with the supplied hardware to prevent tipping.
    • The bolt is available on its own using part number 820609.
    • The washer for the bolt is part number 807007.
    • For current Dual Fuel and Induction Ranges, order part number 829936.
    • For Legacy Dual Fuel Ranges, order part number 821327.
    • For R Gas Ranges, order part number 821262.
      • Both these kits contain the proper hardware needed to attach the anti-tip assembly.
      • These kits will work with any range if ONLY the bolt or washer is needed.
      • For any other missing pieces, order the appropriate anti-tip kit from the chart below.
  • A metal plaque label was added to the bullnose, showing the new location of the anti-tip bracket; do not remove this label.
  • Wolf suggests the anti-tip devices should always be installed for safety reasons.
  • R Series and Legacy Dual Fuel Ranges prior to serial number 17287990 need only the angle wall brace to secure the unit.
    • The angle brace does not include mounting hardware. Use screws appropriate for the material the unit is being secured to.
  • Induction Ranges ship with the new style bracket.
