Wolf Indoor Unit Temperature Range for Installation

Topics:

  • Does Wolf approve of installing indoor units in an environment where ambient temperatures may drop below 60°F?
  • What is the acceptable temperature range to install a Wolf indoor unit in?
  • Will the unit be damaged if installed in temperatures outside the recommended range?

Answer:

Wolf indoor units do not have an ambient indoor temperature range for installation. However, ambient indoor temperatures could affect the unit performance.

  • The assumption is that normal indoor temperatures are 65°F to 85°F.
  • Installation issues can cause the "normal" temperature range to be restricted.
  • Below the "normal" indoor temperature range can cause issue with:
    • Preheat times
    • Ceramic tops
    • Performance of touch controls
  • Above the "normal" indoor temperature range can cause issue with:
    • Cooling fan, cool down performance, and over temperature errors
    • Control performance and over temperature errors
    • Thermal cutout (TCO) issues
    • Performance of touch controls
  • M Series Ovens do have a maximum ambient indoor room temperature.
    • Ambient temperature for an M Series Oven should not exceed 86°F.
