Freezer Burn on Food

If ice or frost is forming on or in all food packages:
- Make sure that the door or drawer is not being left open for extended periods of time.
- Verify the unit's temperatures are properly set.
- Inspect the door or drawer gasket. Replace if damaged.
- Clean the unit's condenser if it has not been cleaned within the last 6 months. See Clean the Condenser for instructions.
- If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, service is necessary to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.

Frost or ice forms on food packages when warm air is introduced into the freezer section.
- Small amounts of frost should disappear after the unit goes through a defrost cycle.
- Frost or ice inside of food packages is a result of moisture being locked within the package. This is commonly referred to as freezer burn.
- Freezer burn is a result of how the food was originally packaged and not a symptom of the Sub-Zero's performance.
- Sub-Zero freezers also pull moisture out of food stored in the freezer. This means ice can form inside packages that is not freezer burn but frozen moisture that is removed from the food due to the dry air in Sub-Zero freezers.
