Answer:

All side-swing microwaves after the serial numbers below have the Door Lock feature, which is enabled by default. 

The Door Lock is different from the Child Lock.

• When the Door Lock feature is enabled, opening the microwave door is a two-step process. All other functions are normal.
• When the Child Lock feature is enabled, the controls are locked to prevent operation.

Door Lock Feature

To open the microwave with the Door Lock feature on:

1. Each time, touch Unlock Door, above the number 1 on the controls.
2. Press the door open pad within 10 seconds.

To turn the Door Lock feature On or Off:

1. Touch Settings.
2. Touch 5 to select the Door Lock setting.
3. Touch Start/Quick On to change between On or Off. A scrolling message onscreen confirms the current selection.

Note that the door will stay locked during a power outage if the Door Lock feature is turned on.

Child Lock Feature

To lock the controls:

1. Touch Settings.
2. Touch 1 to select the Child Lock setting.
3. Touch Start/Quick On to turn Child Lock On. A scrolling message onscreen confirms the current selection.

To unlock the controls:

1. Touch Settings.
2. Touch Start/Quick On to turn Child Lock Off. A scrolling message onscreen confirms the current selection.
