Sub-Zero Door Makes Wooshing Sound
Topics:
- What is the wooshing sound when closing refrigerator or freezer door?
- Wind or air sound
Answer:
When closing a Sub-Zero refrigerator or freezer door, it is normal at times to hear a wooshing or wind type sound. This is simply air equalizing through the drain lines.
- This sound is variable and can be intermittent.
- Variables include but are not limited to: ambient temperatures, ambient humidity levels, food load, temperature differential, etc.
- Inspect the door gasket. A tear can allow air to escape when the door is closed, causing a high pitched wooshing sound. See Sub-Zero Door Gasket Replacement.
