Cove Dishwasher Dishes Not Clean After Wash Cycle
Topics:
- Cove Dishwasher dishes are not clean after wash cycle
- Dishes still dirty after washing
- Does Cove recommend prerinsing dishes?
Cause:
- Spray arms blocked by dishes
- Spray arms not rotating or clogged
- Too much or too little dishwasher detergent
- Lack of rinse aid
- Wrong wash cycle selected
- Dishwasher not loaded properly
- Clogged filters or drain
Troubleshooting:
If dishes are not cleaned adequately:
- Verify the rinse aid compartment is filled.
- Verify spray arms turn freely by hand.
- Items in the dishwasher may prevent the spray arm from spinning, such as oversized dishes in the lower rack or items sticking through the middle rack from above.
- Verify large items in the utensil basket do not lean in toward the center of the unit, causing interference with the middle spray arm.
- The height of the middle rack can be adjusted to accommodate oversized items. Refer to Cove Dishwasher Middle Rack Height Adjustment for more information.
- Verify the detergent compartment door is open and the detergent is completely washed out of the dispenser pod.
- Confirm that the dispenser door is not blocked
- Verify dishes are not placed too close together and cups and bowls are face-down and not nested.
- Verify dishes are clean of large, caked-on food particles before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Do not prerinse dishes. Only scrape off large particles and load the dishes into the machine.
- Cove Dishwashers are designed to work best with some food residue. Without food residue, detergent may stick to the dishes, leaving film and spots.
- Remove the lower and middle spray arms from the dishwasher and run water through them to check for any clogged holes.
- Use a toothpick or tweezers to remove any blockages or soak the spray arm in a water and dish detergent solution.
- Select a different wash cycle. For more information about wash cycles, including cycle time, and detergent amounts, see Cove Dishwasher Wash Cycles.
- Heavier cycles such as Auto, Heavy, Pots & Pans, and Soak & Scrub are longer and use higher temperatures for dirtier loads.
- Add the High Temp Wash and Sani Rinse options to the wash cycle. For information about setting options, see Cove Dishwasher Cycle Options.
- Verify the recommended amount of detergent is used per wash cycle.
- Powder or Pod detergents are recommended. See also, Cove Dishwasher Detergent Suggestions.
- If the dishwasher model includes a water softener, verify that the water hardness has been set correctly. See also, Cove Dishwasher Water Hardness.
If the dishwasher does not seem to be cleaning at all, also verify the following:
- Verify the filters are clean and secured properly and the drain is clear. Improperly placed filters can lead to spray arms clogging. Refer to Cove Dishwasher Filter Removal and Cleaning.
- Verify the spray arms are not blocked or clogged.
- Run a Soak & Scrub cycle with a dishwasher cleaning agent placed in the detergent compartment.
