Sub-Zero Group Owner's App Appliance Missing or Does Not Appear in Bluetooth Only Mode

Troubleshooting

If the appliance is missing from the Sub-Zero Group Owner’s App in Bluetooth Only Mode, follow the troubleshooting steps below:

Note: Only Legacy Designer Series (IT, ID, IC) products with serial number 5959000 or higher can connect with Bluetooth Only Mode.

  • Bluetooth Only Mode is optional. Appliances with serial number 5959000 or higher can use either Bluetooth Only Mode or a Wi-Fi connection.
  • All other connected capable appliances use Wi-Fi Connected Mode only. See Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Connected Appliance Pairing to pair an appliance to Wi-Fi.

Troubleshoot Pairing in Bluetooth Only Mode

Note that only one device can pair to the appliance during initial setup. Up to four additional devices can be paired after setup is complete on the first.

  1. Verify the app is in Bluetooth Only Mode.
    • In Bluetooth Only Mode, the Bluetooth Only Mode indicator appears in the upper right corner of the Appliances screen.
  2. Verify you are within Bluetooth range of the appliance, about 20 feet. 
  3. Verify that the device Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. Verify that the Sub-Zero Group Owner’s App has permission to use Bluetooth:
    • iOS: Go to Settings, then locate and select the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App. Verify Bluetooth is enabled.
    • Android: Go to Settings > select Apps > select the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App > select Permissions.
      • For Android 11 or Older: Allow Location
      • For Android 12 or Newer: Enable Bluetooth
  5. Restart the device the app is on and try the app again.
  6. Turn the home circuit breaker to the unit off for 30 seconds and back on again.
  7. Turn the product on and try connecting again.
