Sub-Zero Classic Series Service Icon Flashing and Alarm Chiming


  • Service icon flashing and alarm chiming
  • Elevated temperatures in unit with wrench flashing and alarm chiming
  • Classic Series (BI) model beeping with the wrench flashing
  • Wrench is blinking on the control panel on a Classic that is chiming

If a service icon appears accompanied by an alarm chiming, a major error code has been logged. Use the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. It may be possible to stop the alarm from chiming for 24 hours without correcting issues or errors. See Classic Series (BI) Alarm Silencing.
  2. Verify unit is on a dedicated power supply.
  3. Turn the home circuit breaker to the unit off for 30 seconds then back on again.
  4. Retest the unit operation.
  5. If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, service is necessary to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
    • If present, share any error codes and current temperatures when contacting the service provider.
