Noise from Compressor Area


  • Banging, buzzing, clicking, rattling or vibration noise coming from compressor area of Sub-Zero
  • Compressor or condenser fan motor is making noise
  • Compressor makes a loud noise when running


It is normal for a Sub-Zero to make a number of noises during operation.

  1. Banging, buzzing, clicking, rattling, vibration, humming, fan motor noise are all considered normal.
  2. Noises may be more pronounced in a home with an open concept, or at night.
  3. If noise is loud, new, louder or more pronounced over time, or unit performance or temperatures have been negatively affected, clean the unit's condenser. Refer to Clean the Condenser or the product Use and Care Guide for further information.
