  • Error code present
  • Software not up to date
  • Door not open

Product Specific Troubleshooting

Sub-Zero:

Note: After the app says to open the door, wait 10 seconds before opening it. Wait 30 seconds for the PIN to appear.

For Classic (BI) products:

  1. Classic products show the PIN split across two screens.
  2. Classic (BI) products will show the first 4 digits of the PIN, and then the display will change to the last 2 digits.
    • Enter the last 4 digits first, followed by the first 2.
    • Only the large digits should be used for the 6-digit PIN. The smaller digits indicate the screen number.
  3. When pairing, if the PIN is entered correctly and still not recognized, reverse the order of the digits entered.
    • For example, if the PIN is 12 34 56, enter 56 12 34.

For Designer (formerly Integrated) and Designer Wine Storage products:

  1. Open the door of the Designer or Designer Wine Storage product before tapping "Add an Appliance" on the app.
  2. Note: Legacy Designer Series (IT, IC, ID) products starting with serial number 5959000 are paired using the appliance serial number instead of a PIN, for either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth pairing.

For PRO 36 products:

  1. The app asks for a six-digit PIN
  2. If only 5 digits appear on the appliance, use a zero as the first digit.
  3. The first digit does not show when it is a zero.
  4. See also, Sub-Zero PRO 36 PIN Troubleshooting.

Wolf:

Note: After the app says to open the door, wait 10 seconds before opening it. Wait 30 seconds for the PIN to appear.

If you are attempting to pair a double oven model, both doors must be opened for the PIN to appear.

Cove:

Note: After the app says to open the door, wait 10 seconds before opening it. Wait 30 seconds for the PIN to appear.

  1. Cove Dishwashers ship with the Connect feature turned off.
  2. If a Cove Dishwasher is in a pending state (open door when drying, did not cancel cycle, etc.), cancel the cycle before trying to pair the appliance.
    • The PIN will not appear if the dishwasher is in a pending state (door opened when drying, cycle not canceled, etc.).
  3. If a cycle is canceled and the PIN still does not appear, start a mode and cancel it. Attempt pairing again.

General Troubleshooting

  1. Verify the appliance door is opened all the way, to make sure the PIN can appear.
  2. For images and information about where to find the PIN, refer to Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Connected Appliance PIN Location.
  3. Be sure to use the PIN that is being shown on the display inside the appliance.
    • Do NOT use the example PIN that is shown in the app. The PIN shown in the app will not work.
  4. If this is your first time connecting the appliance, verify Bluetooth is enabled for the Sub-Zero Group Owners App.
    • For iOS: Open the device Settings > search for "subzero" > tap Sub-Zero Group Owner's App > Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled.
    • For Android: Open the device Settings > tap Apps > tap Sub-Zero Group Owner's App > tap Permissions > tap Nearby Devices > Confirm that Allow is selected.
  5. If Bluetooth is already enabled, forget the appliance from the device's Bluetooth settings:
    • For iOS: Force close the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App > open the device's Settings and tap Bluetooth > locate the appliance that will not connect and tap the Information Button > tap Forget this Device > open the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App and attempt pairing again.
    • For Android: Force close the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App > Open the device Settings > select Connections > select Bluetooth > select the product you want to connect > Select Unpair > open the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App and attempt pairing again.
  6. If the PIN still does not appear, reset power to the appliance and attempt pairing again.
  7. If the PIN does not appear on the appliance display after following the steps above, the appliance software may need an update, refer to Product Software Updates.
  8. Verify the app is not in Bluetooth Only Mode.
    • Bluetooth Only Mode is available only for Legacy Designer Series (IT, IC, ID) products starting with serial number 5959000. All other connected capable appliances use Wi-Fi Connected Mode only.
  9. Verify proper connection and pairing steps were used. See Pair a Connected Appliance if needed.
  10. If the appliance control panel is not working, or unable to display the PIN, refer to:
  11. If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
