To make Popcorn on an Induction Cooktop:

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup popping corn
  • 4-qt induction-compatible saucepan with lid

Method:

  1. Pour oil in saucepan and place on left front (1800W) element.
  2. Heat 2 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Add a single kernel to the pan and cover. Wait for the kernel to pop.
  4. Once it has popped, remove the lid and remove the popped kernel.
  5. Add 1/3 cup of kernels to the pan and shake the pan to coat the kernels.
  6. Place lid on the pan.
  7. Turn the heat off and allow to sit covered for 30 seconds, shaking the pan gently.
  8. Turn the heat back on to medium, and heat with the lid very slightly ajar to allow steam to escape.
  9. As the popcorn begins to pop, shake the pan occasionally.
  10. As the popping begins to slow down, turn off the heat and continue to shake occasionally.
  11. Once the popping has stopped, remove the lid and transfer the popcorn to a bowl.
