Sub-Zero Ice Types

Topics:

  • Do Sub-Zero products containing an ice maker or undercounter ice makers produce clear ice?
  • What kind of ice do Sub-Zero icemakers make?
  • Does Sub-Zero offer crushed ice?

Answer:

The type of ice in a Sub-Zero varies by product type.
  • All undercounter icemakers, except the model 22IM, maker clear, wet ice cubes.
  • Clear ice is produced by the continuous melting within the icemakers since the bin is not refrigerated, only insulated.
  • In-unit icemakers do not make clear ice.
  • Crushed ice is not an option.
