Induction Cooktop Turns On by Itself

Topics:

  • Pan left on Induction Cooktop is Warm or Hot when the Cooktop is off
  • Induction Cooktop heating a pan when in lock mode
  • Unit turns on by itself
  • Are Induction Cooktop controls sensitive to light?

Troubleshooting:

  1. Ensure unit is turned off.
    • If the unit is locked and off, the element controls will not light up.
    • A unit that gets a lot of direct sunlight may get warm enough for the HOT indicator light to come on.
    • Controls are not light sensitive, and will only respond to touch.
  2. Do not store cookware on the induction cooktop when not in use.

If unit controls actually light up and turn on by itself, there may be an issue with the control board.

  1. Turn the home circuit breaker to the unit off for 10 seconds then back on again.
  2. Retest the unit operation. If the unit operates without any further errors, no action is required.
  3. If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, service is necessary to expertly diagnose and repair the product. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
