Install a Wolf Oven in an Enclosure

Topics:

  • Is it possible to install a L Series, E Series, or M Series Oven behind a door?
  • Installing a SO or DO in an enclosed space
  • Can a Wolf Oven be installed behind doors?

Answer:

Wall Ovens may be installed in an armoire-style cabinet or behind pocket doors. However, doors must stay open during preheat, usage, and cool-down to prevent the unit from overheating.

  • Due to the recess of the door and the handle, escaping heat and humidity will collect on the material immediately below the door opening.
  • This may cause warping, condensation buildup, and other damage to the enclosure.
  • Damage caused to the unit or cabinetry due to this type of installation would not be covered by warranty, nor does Wolf have specifications for this application.
  • Oven cooling fans run during unit operation, dispensing heat through the vent at the front of the unit.
  • Trapping this heat in an enclosure may cause damage to the unit and is a fire hazard.
  • If an installation guide does not show a door or enclosure, it is not allowed for proper installation of the product.
