Topics:

  • Why won't the crisper drawer close properly?
  • What is preventing the crisper drawer from closing?
  • Why is ice forming behind the crisper drawer?
  • Crisper drawer or slides are jamming

Troubleshooting:

  1. Verify that the crisper drawer is installed properly.
  2. Open the refrigerator door and inspect the back wall of refrigerator.
  3. Remove the crisper drawer and crisper shelf assembly; if equipped, remove all lower storage drawers as well.
    • If there is no condensation, water, or ice found near, behind, or underneath the drawer(s), then the drain area is not impacted.
  4. Ice might appear due to food debris, standing water, or ice buildup clogging the drain trough or drain tube, which is found along the back wall.
