How to Clean a Charbroiler
- What is the best way to clean the debris from the charbroiler?

To clean charbroiler grates:
- Leave the charbroiler on for approximately 10 minutes after grilling is complete.
- Once the grate has cooled, lift it off and set it in the sink.
- Use a soft bristle brush to remove food particles from the grate.
- Pour very hot water over the cooked-on residue.
- Cover with wet dish towels and pour more hot water over it. Allow the hot, moist conditions to help loosen the residue.
- Remove remaining soil with a mild detergent and scouring pad.
- Rinse and dry.
To clean charbroiler frame and blank off plate, follow these steps:
- Once components are cool, remove from range.
- Remove by lifting straight up.
- Soak in hot water and mild detergent.
- Wash thoroughly, scrubbing with a scouring pad if needed.
- The area around the blank off plate and mesh screen can be cleaned with a mild detergent and water on a soft rag.
- Avoid contact with the ceramic ignitor when cleaning.
Dual Fuel and SRT Sealed Burner Rangetop charbroilers do not include a blank off plate.
- A radiant plate is used on Dual Fuel and SRT models.
- The radiant plate sits directly below the charbroiler and is not secured to the unit in any way.
- Lift radiant plate up to remove for cleaning.
- Soak in hot water and a mild detergent.
- Wash thoroughly and scrub clean.

- The quick start video provides a guide to using the charbroiler on Wolf Gas Ranges with open burner rangetops (R and RT).
- The video does provide a general idea of use and care and cleaning for newer units (Dual Fuel and SRT).
- Clean the charbroiler with soap and water before first-time use.
- It is not necessary to clean the infrared burner, but if the holes on the burner become clogged, straighten a paper clip and use to remove debris from the holes.
- Leaving the charbroiler on after cooking as noted above will help to burn away any debris from the infrared burner.
- Do not leave meat on the charbroiler to rest after turning it off. This will cause grease to drip onto the burner.
- Always let the burner run at least 10 minutes after removing food from the charbroiler.
- The blank off plate will turn a metallic blue color due to the high heat; this is a permanent change.
- A blank off plate should not be used with a Dual Fuel or SRT model rangetop.

- Ignitor: Avoid contact with the ignitor; it is fragile (ceramic) and can chip or break.
- Dishwasher cleaning is not recommended for any part of the charbroiler as it may corrode the finishes.
- The charbroiler is made of porcelain coated cast iron.
- If there is debris on the ignitor, it may create ignition issues. Clean gently with a soft, dry toothbrush.
