Amazon Alexa Says Command Not Valid but Command Occurs
Topics:
- Use Amazon Alexa with Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, or other Amazon Alexa product
- Is Alexa compatible with Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove connected appliances?
- Alexa says command is not valid, action is not supported, appliance cannot do action, or does not understand command
- Why does Alexa do an action after saying action is not supported?
Answer:
Connected Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances are now voice-enabled using Amazon Alexa.
Amazon Alexa voice responses are occasionally incorrect for any product or skill. If Alexa indicates that an action cannot be done, but the requested action still happens, the appliance and the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App are working as intended.
For example, if Alexa is told to change the refrigerator temperature, use the app to verify whether or not the action was completed. If the app indicates that the temperature changed, the action was completed, even if the Alexa voice response says otherwise.
- To use the Alexa skill with Sub-Zero, Wolf, or Cove appliances, you must have an appliance connected in the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App.
- If Alexa commands are not working, contact Customer Care at 800-222-7820. A Customer Care Representative can make sure the connected module is updated to at least version 4.9.
