Sub-Zero Water Filter Replacement

Water filters are ready to be replaced whenever the replacement indicator appears in the display, or after approximately one year.

  • The water filter indicator appears in the control panel display as four drops of water passing through a horizontal sheet of paper.
  • On Classic models, the icon appears between the temperatures:

Note: Not all Sub-Zero products include a water filtration system.

  • There is no water filter in 200/300, 500, 600, or 700 Series models, nor in Undercounter or Designer Drawer products and some ice makers. For a complete list, refer to Sub-Zero Does Not Have a Water Filter.

After replacing the filter:

  • The first several glasses of water should be discarded.
  • The first two full containers of ice should be discarded. 

Replacing a water filter varies by filter type and model. Refer to the instructions below for product-specific replacement instructions:

Reset Water Filter Indicator

Resetting the filter varies by product. Refer to the instructions below for product-specific reset instructions:

  • The water filter cannot be reset through the mobile app. 
  • Filter life must first be reset on the appliance according to instructions above.

If the Sub-Zero app does not update the filter life within a few hours after replacement and reset, refer to:
