Legacy Designer Series (IT, IC) Reset Water Filter



The steps below apply to Legacy Designer Tall or Column models in any of the following situations:

  • The filter has been changed
  • The filter needs to be changed
  • The unit does not use a filter

Reset Water Filter

If the change filter message is not present:

  1. Tap the arrow on the left side of the Home screen to access the Options menu.
  2. Tap the gear icon on the Options menu to access the Settings menu.
  3. Select the 'i' icon to access the Information menu.
  4. Tap Filters to access the Water and Air Filters menu.
  5. Press and hold the dripping water icon on the far left for 5 seconds to select the water filter settings.
    • This will reset the percentage back to 100%.
  6. Continue by following the same steps below for when the change filter message is present.

If the change filter message is present:

The change filter message appears when the filter is spent, 0% remaining filter life.

  1. When the message appears, select one of the following:
    • If a replacement filter is not available, tap Snooze to turn the reminder off for one week. Water filters are available for purchase through Sub-Zero’s Accessory Store or a Factory Certified Parts Distributor.
    • If a replacement filter is available, or if the unit does not use a filter and you want to turn off the filter reminder, tap Reset Filter to reach the Reset Filter Life Timer? screen. 
  2. If you want to replace the filter, change it at this point. If the unit does not use a filter, skip this step.  
  3. On the Reset Filter Life Timer? screen, select the options that apply:
    • Disabled/Enabled can be toggled by pressing on the words. This enables or disables the filter life timer.
      • Always have the filter life timer enabled if the internal unit water filter is used.
      • To verify if the timer is enabled, see if the word "Enabled" is bold on the display.
      • Use this feature to disable the filter life timer when a reverse osmosis system is in place and the internal unit filter is not used.
    • Touch Yes or No to exit the screen.
      • Select Yes when the water filter is replaced and the timer needs to reset to 100% water filter life.
      • Select No to exit this screen without reseting filter timer.
  4. If these steps do not resolve the issue, no further troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair.
